It’s barbeque season so make sure to stay on track this summer by taking a healthy dish to your party and keep your portion sizes small. There’s a lot of delicious foods at a summertime bbq and sometimes in social settings, we lose our willpower and focus on eating healthy. Here are six easy tip to help you stay on track this summer.

  1. Avoid the bread – stay away from hotdog/hamburger buns. You will save so many calories and carbs by skipping the bread.
  2. Take a healthy dish to share. Set yourself up for success by bring something healthy to your gathering so you know there will be some good for you food there!
  3. Limit your portions. Don’t overdo the amount of food you consume. Enjoy the taste without overindulging!
  4. Don’t show up starving. Eat a healthy snack before you go so you won’t overeat when you are at the BBQ.
  5. Eat/serve lean protein. To save the calories go for the chicken, turkey or veggie products.
  6. Drink water in between your alcoholic beverages.
