It’s barbeque season so make sure to stay on track this summer by taking a healthy dish to your party and keep your portion sizes small. There’s a lot of delicious foods at a summertime bbq and sometimes in social settings, we lose our willpower and focus on eating healthy. Here are six easy tip to help you stay on track this summer.
- Avoid the bread – stay away from hotdog/hamburger buns. You will save so many calories and carbs by skipping the bread.
- Take a healthy dish to share. Set yourself up for success by bring something healthy to your gathering so you know there will be some good for you food there!
- Limit your portions. Don’t overdo the amount of food you consume. Enjoy the taste without overindulging!
- Don’t show up starving. Eat a healthy snack before you go so you won’t overeat when you are at the BBQ.
- Eat/serve lean protein. To save the calories go for the chicken, turkey or veggie products.
- Drink water in between your alcoholic beverages.
